The Racket Story
Formed
back in 2003 from a desire to take the classic rock the band grew up
with, mix it with their current favourites & play them loud and
live, Cheshire-based Racket are widely acknowledged as
one of the North West’s top rock
& pop covers bands.
In time-honoured Rock n Roll tradition, the band
has gone through a number of personnel changes since the original line
up, each time getting stronger & earning more recognition as a live
act. Earlier “incarnations” of various band members
have included gigging at the Hacienda
and Band on the Wall
in Manchester along with one who appeared weekly as a dancer on
National TV!
Racket in 2010 can
cut their material to suit most venues and include well-known numbers
by artists such as: Coldplay, Oasis,
U2, REM, Greenday, Radiohead, Kaiser Chiefs, Queen, Rolling Stones,
AC/DC, Kinks, Quo, ZZ Top, Bowie, The Beatles and even Andy Williams,
Tom Jones and the Sex Pistols. The result, as anyone who’s
seen the band live will know, is a show not easily forgotten (no matter
how hard you may try).
